Tooth Fairy Pouch Kit Instructions
Finishing Instructions
-
1) Congrats on finishing your tooth cross stitch! It’s time to sew this onto the velvet pouch.
If you have an iron, take a piece of scrap cotton and put it on top of the finished cross stitch. On medium heat, give the tooth a bit of an iron. (If you don’t have an iron, no worries, its not necessary).
-
2) Next, fold all four sides of the aida so the finished size of the tooth is now 1 3/4" x 2” (4.5 cm x 5 cm)
-
3) Make sure your velvet pouch has a running stitched rectangle on one side of it. This is where you will be attaching the cross stitched tooth.
-
4) Double check that the finished size of your cross stitched tooth will fit in the rectangle on the velvet pouch.
-
5) It FITS! Let's go!
-
6) Included in your kit, you’ll find a needle with white thread ready for you to sew the cross stitch onto the pouch. Be careful, this needle is sharp (it’s not a tapestry needle).
-
7) Make sure the end of the white thread has a knot.
-
8) Take the needle and start in between one of the folds on the aida so the knot will be hidden.
-
9) Thread the needle through the corresponding running stitch on the velvet pouch and back up through the aida.
-
10) Continue sewing back down into the next running stitch on the velvet pouch and back into the aida, until you have secured the entire perimeter.
-
11) TA DA! Your tooth fairy pouch is complete!
Pull the draw strings once a tooth is in there or once the Tooth Fairy has retrieved the tooth and left some money (hopefully she knows to pull the strings shut) :)
